Dear GMail spam filter

Dear spam filter,

I cannot read Russian. If a message is in Russian, it is spam, just like all the other Russian messages I have marked as spam.

    You get Russian spam? All my foreign spam is either Chinese or Korean.

    Yep, my mail spam falls into four categories: sex, drugs, word salad, and Russian.

    The first three are the majority and all get caught fine in the filter. For some reason, it’s never learned that I can’t read Russian…

    Filter out 98% of all Russian spam in Gmail with this filter:

    Has the words: в OR и

    Mine is usually in the (1) cheap drugs, or (2) Thai variety. I don’t speak thai, and it’s by random chance that I can even recognize the thai unicode character.

    I’d like an “all non-iso8859/us/english is spam” option in gmail.
